The French international and Real Madrid‘s clinical striker, Karim Benzema, has been Brendan Rodgers’ target for long time, since Luis Suarez left the club and went to Barcelona. Now with Gerrard also leaving Liverpool later this season on a move to MLS club LA Galaxy and Balotelli still out of form, the Reds are in dire need of quality striker to add some serious strength and ferocity to their attack.
The 27-year-old French goal-machine has all the ferocity, vivacity and subtle skills to do what Luis Suarez did for Liverpool last season. He has scored 8 goals and provided equal number of assists for Real Madrid in Primera Division this season. He could be the one to rejuvenate and revitalize the Liverpool club and put an end to attacking woes with his knack for goals.
On the other hand, Real Madrid need to generate money to bring Man United goalkeeper, David De Gea, in Santiago Bernabeu. Some newspapers are also claiming that Karim Benzema is being sold to collect funds for £50m Paris-Saint Germain striker, Edinson Cavani.
The Frenchman himself is also keen on a move to Premier League; since he has been hugely outshone by Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez at Real Madrid of late, and after going four games without finding the net his numbers don’t look good.
